1.Set up your Dreamcast according to the Owner's Manual.
Make sure your Dreamcast is plugged directly into a phone
jack (do not use any type of splitter).
2. Insert the Dreamcast Web Browser (any version).*
3. Press the POWER button to turn on your Dreamcast. You
should see the Dreamcast Intro and Sega License screens,
followed by the Planet Web splash screen. If not enough
free memory blocks are available in your VMU, or if you
don't have a VMU installed, you'll see the following screen:
Info:
There are not enough free memory blocks. 3 empty blocks are
required for saving. If the Web Browser is started, saving
will not be possible.
Select "OK" to advance past this screen.
4. Press the START button on your controller.
5. Choose OPTIONS from the menu cluster.
6. Under "Required Settings," select INTERNET CONNECTION.
7. On the "Basic Info" screen, fill out the following info:
Your Real Name: (this is not required)
User Login: Your IOL Username
Password: Your IOL Password
Dialup Number: 626-1350
Backup Number: 626-2001
DNS 1: 206.150.195.6
DNS 2: 208.148.112.5
8. Next, fill out the "Dial Options" screen:
Area code you are dialing from: (required for users
who need to dial an area code with their dialup number)
Long distance call prefix: (not required - usually "1" if needed)
Call waiting prefix: (not required - usually "*70" if needed)
Outside dialing prefix: (not required - usually "9" if needed)
Modem init: AT&F (don't change this - use default value: ATR&F0)
Dial: Tone or Pulse: (default "Tone")
Dial area code: On or Off (default "Off")
Blind Dial: On or Off (default "Off." Select "On" only if you have

9. Finally, fill out the "Proxy Settings" screen

Proxy Server Name: (default blank)
Proxy Port: (default blank)
10. Once all your changes have been completed, select OK.
On the "Required and Optional Settings" screen, select SAVE to
save all changes to the Dreamcast system memory. DO NOT RESET
OR POWER OFF YOUR DREAMCAST AS SETTINGS ARE BEING SAVED.
11. Try to get online with your Dreamcast. If you succeed,
your changes are complete.
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to connect, try the following tips:
1. Verify that all of your ISP info has been entered correctly and your
Dreamcast is connected to your phone line correctly.
2. If you have Message Center service or some other type of answering
service, make sure that you do not have any unchecked messages. Any
interruptions in the dial tone will affect connectivity to the Internet
via your ISP.
3. If you are dialing out from a dorm room, office, or any other
facility that requires a "9" or some other number to reach an outside
line, try putting a comma (,) after the number in the "Outside dialing
prefix" setting (i.e. "9,") on the "Dial Options" screen. This puts a
comma between the outside dial number and the access number to
create a "pause."
